The Positivity Challenge (Part I): Time to Get Busy!

Dear brides and vendors—
Right now, it seems every single website and TV channel is hell-bent on delivering the scariest information possible. In truth, the facts are pretty scary. Well, the fact about Arkansas Bride is, we’re here to help you plan your happiest day ever, and we know that even if you’ve delayed your plans, you’re still planning that happy day, so we want to be a ray of sunshine and positivity in a sea of uncertainty. What is certain? Your wedding is going to be beautiful, magical and perfect no matter the outside world.
I want to share a portion of something I posted last night on my Facebook wall:
“I see so much opportunity right now. When people and businesses face challenges when our backs are against the wall … it’s incredible to see what happens. We come up with new ideas. We finally try ideas we’ve been fearful to give a shot. We work harder. We lean on others more (instead of arrogantly thinking we can do it all on our own). We reconnect with our people, our customers—connect with new people altogether. This is a confusing and trying time—let’s buckle down and bust our butts and see what we can do. I can’t wait to see what comes out on the other side.
There’s not much I can control about the virus and related problems, but I can control my work, what goals I set, what things I do, and what I put my energy into. I can control spreading it by staying home, and at home, I’m focused on my magazines being new and fun and creative, and our brand supporting our beloved partners. How about you?”
After posting that, I realized I wanted to share it with our audience here. I want to do my part to spread positivity and create an alternative conversation that focuses on what’s next when this inevitably passes—and it will pass.
Brides, remember a month ago when you were too busy to plan your wedding, or too overwhelmed to think about color stories or ways to personalize? Well, guess what. You finally have this beautiful moment to plan your wedding without interruption.
So, I am creating a challenge. Let’s have some fun.
Challenge #1: I am asking each bride and groom out there reading this to email me one new, fun idea that they want to research for their wedding—a creative dancefloor, something fun for your guests, a unique late-night snack, a cool food station, a wardrobe change, a custom graphic or paper element to tie the whole day together—it can be anything.
Email your idea to me at Lindsay@ArkansasBride.com.
Include your name, wedding date (if you have one), and your Instagram handle.
I’ll choose a bunch of them to share with our readers here and on social media!
Challenge #2: I’m asking each vendor out there reading this to email me a new, fun service they want to offer brides and grooms. This might take a hot minute to think up. But we want to know what cool ideas you have been dying to offer brides, but the time has just never been there to get started. Ok, well, we are here. Let us help you get started by getting the word out.
Email your idea to me at Lindsay@ArkansasBride.com.
Include your name, business name, and your Instagram handle.
Ready? Set. Go!
I can not wait to see what positive energy comes from this.
With love,
Lindsay
