The Organized Bride: Create a Payment Calendar

My brides are busyladies. With work or school, social obligations and often miles between them and their wedding location, they can easily become overwhelmed by how much goes into a wedding. I’ll be sharing advice on how to stay organized over the course of several blog posts. Here’s my first organization tip…

Create a payment calendar. Most wedding vendors require a down payment and then several follow up payments due prior to the wedding. Some have you pay the remainder of your contract in thirds, some want the balance 30 days before the event, and some payments will have to be finalized after your RSVP number comes in.

All of those different systems and numbers can get confusing and you definitely don’t want to miss a payment and lose out on a vendor participating in your wedding. A great way to avoid that is to create a payment calendar that holds all of the dates and amounts that you owe to vendors.

This calendar should be filled with only wedding costs as it will also serve as a good way to help manage your spending for the wedding. Keep it close to your daily calendar and ensure that you check it weekly and you will rest easy knowing the business end of your wedding is well organized and you have happy vendors!
