Marlsgate Plantation Scott
The Bride’s Vision
Amy and Josh chose Marlsgate Plantation in Scott as the site for both their wedding and reception. The bride’s vision for the day was an intimate Southern wedding with a touch of vintage glamour. Her mother, Terrye Fincher, and David Garner, owner of Marlsgate, worked together to bring her vision to life.
A Formal Celebration
After the ceremony, guests were treated to a formal dinner and dessert. The tables were decorated with silver candelabras, ivory candles and roses. The five-tier wedding cake was intricately decorated with latticework, delicate flowers and leaves of icing and accented with greenery and white roses. The groom’s table featured monogrammed chocolate petit fours.
An Intimate Gathering
The couple exchanged vows in front of family and friends while standing before a fireplace elegantly decorated with hydrangeas, French tulips, gardenias, Casablanca lilies and candles in antique crystal candleholders belonging to the bride?s grandmother. The recessional and other classical pieces before and after the ceremony were performed by the Arkansas Symphony DaCapo string quartet.
Vintage Glamour
Amy knew she’d found the right dress when she tried on Dina Bar-El’s silk charmeuse gown at Proposals in Little Rock. The full-length candlelight dress and cathedral-length lace veil by Winnie Couture were accented with special accessories chosen to add to the vintage look of the ceremony. The diamond in her engagement ring belonged to her grandmother and her silk sling-back heels were worn by her sister on her wedding day.
