Say goodbye to gorgeous gowns by Priscilla of Boston – or cherish yours as a collectible (if you wore POB on your wedding day).
The company has been around for 65 years – and is remembered most for creating Grace Kelly’s wedding gown.
Priscilla of Boston’s parent company, David’s Bridal, announced yesterday that it will close 19 national POB salons on Dec. 31.
POB lines, carried at independent boutiques across the country, including She Said Yes in Rogers and Proposals in Little Rock, are being pulled immediately.
In fact, the last time you’ll ever be able to order a POB gown is THIS WEEKEND at the She Said Yes’ trunk show. They’ll take any final POB orders through Tuesday, Sept. 13. And then, well, that’s all folks!
If you already ordered a gown by POB, you order will be fullfilled as promised. However, if your fittings or dress delivery date is set for after Dec. 31, you’ll need to make special arrangements. The Knot breaks it down with more details and POB customer service info, incase you’ve ordered a gown from the line for your upcoming wedding. (You’ll notice dates vary with the She Said Yes ordering deadline, but we heard it from She Said Yes, that you can order with them through Tuesday.)
There is a great article in The Boston Globe about it – it’s sad to lose an iconic bridal brand and to hear of the loss of jobs by POB employees.
