Olivia and Zach’s paths crossed at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, in 2020 – but they officially met and became friends while working at a camp together in Branson, Missouri. While working at Kanakuk Kamps, they bumped into one another on their days off at a local Walmart. They remained friends for the majority of the time they worked together, and went their separate ways after the summer had ended. In January 2023, they reconnected over Instagram. At the time, Zach was living in Springfield, Missouri, and Olivia was completing her last semester at Baylor. After spending a few days texting back and forth, Zach officially asked her on a date to dinner and to watch the Baylor Basketball team play.
“Three weeks later, he would ask me to be his girlfriend,” Olivia said. “This was the beginning of almost a year and a half of long-distance dating. Though it was hard, this is a time we look back at with so much fondness and appreciation! We loved the long weekend visits and FaceTime calls. This was the season where we fell in love!”
In May 2024, he moved back to Texas, and the two were engaged later that year.

Q: What inspired your wedding day?
A: “I found our floral linen, and I knew it was what I wanted our whole day to center around,” Olivia said. “It felt classical while also adding a touch of lightness when paired with our different rattan elements. The mix of the florals and the rattan became the center of all our decoration ideas. I specifically loved seeing it incorporated into our bar and seating chart.”

Q: What moment of the day do you wish you could relive over and over again?
A: “Can I say all of it,” Olivia said. “I loved so much of the day! Our ceremony was so special and intimate as it was done by one of our close friends, Jonathan Linder. It was so special to be reminded that our wedding day didn’t center on us, but on Jesus Christ!”
Q: What surprised you about wedding planning?
A: “One of the most surprising parts of wedding planning was the generosity and care of our friends throughout different parts of the planning season,” Olivia said. “We truly had no idea where to start, but I had so many friends who had planned weddings before with their moms, and they were so eager to help and point us in the right direction!”

Q: Did you use Arkansas Bride as inspiration leading up to your big day?
A: “Yes,” Olivia said. “On the day that I got engaged, my mom gave me copies of Arkansas Bride to look through so we could begin dreaming!”
Q: When you look back at your wedding, what part of the day sticks out to you the most?
A: “The people,” Olivia said. “It’s so sweet to look back and see specific moments that were made special by the people who were part of it.”
Q: What was your favorite part of the planning process?
A: “loved the design element of planning,” Olivia said. “It was so fun to dream about my wedding for so long and then see it come to life! What I had envisioned for my wedding had changed throughout the years, but I loved getting to see it become the classic wedding I had always dreamed of with intentional style and design elements that represented what I love today!”

Q: What advice do you have for other couples planning their wedding day?
A: “Soak up every minute, but know it is just a day,” Olivia said. “Writing this, I wish I could go back to my wedding day because it was such a special day! There are so many moments that make me smile as I reflect back on them, pictures that make me tear up as I see all the beautiful details come together so perfectly, and the people that were part of the day, but it is also only a day and just a few hours. As perfect as our wedding day was, our marriage has been even better! It is such a gift to do life with each other, and our wedding day was only the beginning!”
Something Blue
“I got to wear one of my mom’s old rings as my ‘something blue’,” Olivia said. “It was her high school graduation gift from her father, my grandpa, who passed in January of 2024. It was so sweet to have a sentimental gift that had been passed down for years, and now I get to wear it as an event piece and be reminded of my wedding day!”

Rattan & Linens
“Our color scheme and design are all centered around our signature linen and various rattan decorations,” Olivia said.
