Johanna “Josie” Cates Hurst & Will Harris Clark
May 31, 2025 | Country Club of Little Rock | Erin Wilson Photography
Josie and Harris met during college in 2018 while working in Lexington as research assistants. Harris was in the economics department, and Josie was in the psychology department. They first met through mutual friends over dinner. Their friendship quickly grew into something more, and they went on their official date during the last week of their internship.
Fast-forward to August 2023, Harris took Josie to the country home he stayed in during his time as a research assistant and proposed!

Q&A
Q: What inspired your florals?
A: “As the daughter of a florist, I, of course, had considered my wedding florals for quite a while,” Josie said. “I knew I wanted big, fluffy flower varieties … I went with a tighter, floral-only style with minimal greenery. I’ve recently loved the “mono-stem” trend, too, of having bunches of all one type of stem in one vase, which we incorporated in a few places throughout the reception.”

A: “Harris and I had so much fun with our first dance, even more than we anticipated we would,” Josie said. “There was just such a fun, happy energy in the room, the perfect kick-off to our reception.”

A: “I loved planning out the design and branding details of the weekend, from the color palette and patterns to the stationery, napkins and koozies,” Josie said. “I’m very particular about design and little details – I love when every piece feels intentional and cohesive, and the paper goods were a big part of where that consistent branding for the event came to life.”

Clark’s Camp
The couple included a “Happy Place” Cocktail hour to honor the Clarks’ family cabin in Michigan. With cabin-themed snacks and a bourbon bar, it was a hit with guests!
