Alexandra Griffith & David Hathaway
June 1, 2024 | Private Residence in Little Rock | Meredith Benton Photography
Alexandra and David got married at her childhood home in Little Rock. The bride wanted to transform the space while emphasizing the hominess of her parent’s estate.
“With a larger guest list, we aimed to create a very intimate atmosphere where our guests would feel like they were just in a close friend’s home, not necessarily at a wedding,” Alexandra said. “We wanted the reception to resemble a fabulous dinner party. We served the meal family style, with bottles of wine for self-service, candles lining the table and fine china.”

Q&A
Q: What surprised you about the wedding planning process?
A: “On the wedding day, I kept looking around and marveling at all the creative talent in one room,” Alexandra said. “It was truly a pleasure to work with and create something original with such an amazing team.”
Q: Tell us about the color palette!
A: “It was a struggle to narrow it down but when we settled first on a pistachio green, it felt different and chic,” Alexandra said. “I wanted the color palette to feel vibrant and spring while also working with the very modern architecture of my parent’s home.”
Q: What was your favorite moment of the day?
A: “My favorite moment of the day was when the band walked around my family’s home with their instruments to gather the guests to the dance floor for the first dance,” Alexandra said. “Everyone followed them to the dancefloor dancing and excited to start the second half of the night. It felt so euphoric and fun. The energy was impalpable.”
Q: Is there a personalized detail that you want us to share about the day?
A: “My mom has been collecting McCoy pottery since I was a little girl and has developed quite a stash of pastel vases,” Alexandra said. “We decided to use the pottery as the centerpiece for the table.”
Family Heirlooms
“I loved that the same pottery that I would use to make flower arrangements as a little girl for special events or just everyday life was displayed at my wedding,” Alexandra said. “It felt original and unique.”

“The amount of detail, preparation, and planning shocked me,” Alexandra said. “I knew it would be a lot but I had no idea the time commitment and effort it would take. I am so thankful for the team that made it all happen. Maggie Counce, Angie Stafford, Evette Brady, Sarah Hobart, Meredith Benton and my Mom were women that I truly trusted to use their creative whims and talents.”
