Fayetteville couple Lindsey Strong and Kyle Sullivan began their relationship on a University of Arkansas snow day. Since most businesses were closed, the two drove around looking for a good place to sit and talk. After several failed attempts, Lindsey and Kyle wound up at the top of a parking garage on the U of A campus with a view looking out over Fayetteville.
Three years later, after Kyle took Lindsey on a drive to some of their relationship’s most memorable spots (with letters for each location!), he proposed in “their” parking garage. “It was special, unique and made for some fabulous urban-setting proposal pics,” Lindsey says.
The Inspiration
The couple wanted the wedding to be intimate, simple and modern. They didn’t want their wedding day filled with extras that ultimately distracted from the meaning of the day (and added to the price tag). During a quick engagement of three months and three weeks, Lindsey and Kyle worked with intentionality so that each detail of the wedding was deliberately thought out.
To tie together their vision, the couple hired Brooke Cagle of Brooke Cagle Design, to create a logo for their wedding day. Lindsey and Kyle used it on several details from the invitations and programs to the tags on the coffee mug gifts and the wedding website. “It was unique to us, and it tied together our style, colors and wedding “vibe!” Lindsey says.

The gorgeous backdrop for the ceremony was a surprise gift from Lindsey’s grandmother that now hangs in the couple’s living room as a reminder of their wedding day.
The couple eats a Paleo diet, so Lindsey wanted to incorporate touches of that in the wedding menu. A small bakery in Elkins baked a Paleo wedding cake specially for the couple. Briar Rose Bakery also made gluten-free cookies and provided coconut milk for cookie dunking, which was served to the guests for dessert rather than traditional wedding cake.
Lindsey and Kyle sent their guests home from the brunch wedding with a coffee mug favor. Since the couple served coffee at the wedding, guests were able to pick out a mug, write their name on the tag, use it during the reception and then take it home with them.
Lindsey and Kyle opted for a more intimate set-up on their big day with a morning wedding. “We didn’t have to spend all day nervously awaiting the event, we got to serve fabulous breakfast food and coffee, and we didn’t leave the wedding at midnight exhausted,” Lindsey says.
