Soon Howard & Nicholas “Nick” Glover

The Ravington
After meeting periodically through mutual friends at the University of Arkansas, Soon Howard and Nick Glover finally started dating during Soon’s last year of undergrad and Nick’s last year of grad school in 2013. They knew it was true love through small similarities like their favorite number both being eight, both preferring coke with no ice and a shared obsession with Lay’s potato chips.
Soon says the proposal unfolded like a fairytale. She was asked to be the model in a styled shoot at King’s Canyon in Clarksville. While she was standing in a gorgeous Lazaro gown, Soon turned around to find Nick down on one knee asking her to marry him. Photographer Erin Wilson was there to capture it all on camera.
The Inspiration
The couple found their dream venue in The Ravington. Soon says she and Nick felt a special connection with the venue’s owners and enjoyed the creative freedom the space allowed. Plus, having the ceremony and reception at the same venue was a major perk.
“We were sold as soon as we saw the amazing design elements, such as, the copper door casings, the stained-glass windows, and the gorgeous Moroccan doors,” she says.
Fitting perfectly with their fall wedding date, Soon and Nick chose rich hues that complemented the season. Soon’s favorite color is blush and Nick’s is burgundy, so the two settled on a marsala color palette.
“We really felt that it brought forth a romantic energy that was perfect for fall,” Soon says.

When it came to personalization, the couple found a unique way to play on the wedding tradition of something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. The two customized their drink menu to include crown and Coke as their something old, their signature drink Glove Potion No. 9 as their something new, cranberry and vodka as their something borrowed and Michelob Ultra as their something blue.
Their menu included some of their favorite comfort foods from Herman’s Ribhouse in Fayetteville. The couple also hired some fire dancers to perform during the cocktail hour. It was a creative way to keep everyone warm and entertained on a cool autumn evening. Nick’s favorite splurge of the wedding was the Snap Social Photo Booth, which was a huge hit at the reception and a fun way to commemorate the evening.
“There was a point during our reception where Nick and I just looked around and everyone was either dancing, enjoying the photo booth or chatting and laughing, and we genuinely felt so lucky,” Soon says.
