Back in July 2014, the Internet army helped us track down the couple linked to a sidewalk chalk proposal we spotted at Two Rivers Park in Little Rock. In a few hours’ time, we found William (Bill) Lee and Claudia Crespo, an Arkansas boy from Jacksonville and an elementary school teacher from La Ceiba, Honduras.

Well, we’ve got an update for all of you curious readers: Claudia and Bill are married! The two were wed on Sunday, Dec. 27, at a small ceremony with family and close friends in Honduras.
Originally, the couple were planning on waiting until 2017 to say their vows with every intention of enjoying the engagement phase of their relationship. However, a month before they left to spend Christmas in Honduras, Claudia had a tearful realization.
“I told [Bill] that I needed my grandparents to see me getting married. My grandfather is 90 and my grandmother is 86, and it would mean the world for me to get married in their presence,” she said.
Bill didn’t hesitate to agree, and after a flurry of phone calls, Claudia’s mother, sister Ilse and friend Kimberly set out to plan an intimate wedding at her parents’ home. In just a month, the team pulled off a gathering that the bride called her “dream wedding”—the only true approval needed on the big day.
The ceremony featured Claudia’s niece playing the guitar and her girlfriends singing their wedding song, “Wanted” by Hunter Hayes, the lyrics of which Bill used in his proposal. Her great-aunt prayed over the couple and her uncle officiated, all while her aunt translated the ceremony.
“It was magical!” Claudia said.
The newlyweds then set out on their honeymoon in Roatan, Honduras. “There is nothing like crystal clear water and white sand to make our fairytale come to life,” Claudia said.
But the celebration isn’t over. Because Bill’s family and friends were unable to attend, the couple is still putting together a summertime wedding in Arkansas for all their stateside loved ones.
Congrats, you two!
