Lacey Simpson & Reed Thomas Allen

Lacey and Reed’s love story began as a close friendship that slowly turned into something more. They met during their freshman year at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, but it wasn’t until the following year that their bond grew and love blossomed. From then on, they were inseparable.
Years later, Reed proposed to Lacey with a night full of surprises. He had planned a date night at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts.
“He told me we had reservations at Park Grill, the restaurant inside the museum, and our date was for a belated Valentine’s celebration,” Lacey said. “Little did I know, there were no dinner reservations and he had secretly been planning the sweetest proposal.”
When Reed suggested a walk outside, Lacey found flower petals, a small staircase, a beautiful bouquet and her great-grandmother’s crystal champagne flutes.
“He got down on one knee, and it was one of the happiest moments of my life,” Lacey said.
Lacey’s family and friends were there, ready to celebrate the lovely couple’s engagement.

Q&A
Q: What was your favorite part of the planning process?
A: “It was so much fun to plan alongside my mom, sister, best friends, wedding planner and amazing vendors,” Lacey said. “I loved getting to be creative, share ideas and bring so much inspiration to life while making fun memories and meeting wonderful people along the way.”
Q: “Why did you decide to go with the vibe of your wedding?”
A: “I wanted the day to embody Reed and I’s relationship, full of warmth, fun, celebration and love.” Lacey said. “I have always loved the aesthetic of spring— the blooming flowers, the soft colors and I wanted to incorporate that along with romantic and timeless elements.”
Q: “What moment of the day do you wish you could relive over and over again?”
A: “Reed and I had the best time at our reception,” Lacey said. “Every part of our wedding day was so special and meaningful to us, but we often reminisce on our reception, and how amazing it was to have our best friends and family members in one place…”

Roses for Reed & Daisies for Lacey
“The design of my dress had several roses stitched in lace, and we decided to incorporate roses throughout our florals as a nod to my dress,” Lacey said. “Daisies have always been one of my favorite flowers, and my bridesmaids carried daisies!”

A Private Moment
“Doing a first look was one of my most favorite parts of the day,” Lacey said. “We weren’t sure whether we wanted to do one or not, but I’m so glad we did. Getting to spend time together just us two, [exchanging] handwritten letters to each other, taking communion and praying together brought us so much joy and peace.”
