Jansen Grace Connor & John Thomas Sixbey

July 19, 2025 | Murphy Arts District in El Dorado | Jayce Keil Photography & Videography

What started as a high school romance became a lifelong love story for Jansen and John.

After a brief young romance and going their separate ways for college, they eventually found each otherโ€” ready to spend the rest of their lives together. โ€œFour years ago, we both found our way back home to El Dorado, where we reconnected.

And, well, the rest is history!โ€ Jansen said. Jansen and John got engaged during a morning walk at the Fayetteville Farmers Market. After wandering through all the booths, they stopped by Block Street Records, where they picked up a Leon Bridges vinylโ€”Jansen had always dreamed of having one of his songs as their first dance at their wedding day. Little did Jansen know, John already had the ring in his pocket, ready to ask the most important question of his life.

โ€œA little later, as we walked past our favorite date-night spot, Atlas, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him,โ€ Jansen said.

Q&A

Q: Why did you decide to go with the vibe of your wedding?

A: โ€œOur vision was to create a celebration that embodied timeless elegance while remaining a true reflection of who we are as a couple,โ€ Jansen said. โ€œWe embraced simplicity in the overall design, allowing thoughtful, personalized details to bring warmth and meaning to every moment.โ€

Q: What inspired your florals?

A: โ€œI wanted timeless white florals to bring softness and contrast to our dark, moody venue,โ€ Jansen said. โ€œOur florist perfectly captured that vision and transformed the space beautifully.โ€

Q: What moment of the day do you wish you could relive over and over again?

A: โ€œWe cherished celebrating with our friends and family during the reception,โ€ Jansen said. โ€œHaving all of our loved ones under one roof and spending the evening with everyone who has touched our lives made the day truly unforgettable.โ€

The Morning Of

I treasured getting ready with my closest friends on the morning of the wedding,โ€ Jansen said. โ€œThere was a calm, relaxing energy that helped soothe my nerves and made the moment truly specialโ€ฆ It will always be one of my favorite memoriesโ€”sharing that time with my bridesmaids and my mom.โ€

Coming Home

โ€œOur first dance was to โ€˜Coming Homeโ€™ by Leon Bridgesโ€”the same record I purchased on the day we got engaged,โ€ Jansen said. โ€œI also wore the earrings my mom wore on her wedding day, which felt like the perfect way to honor my parentsโ€™ special day.โ€
