Seanna Bounds has always imagined having a fairy-tale wedding, and Jaxon Thompson was the man to make it happen. The couple first met in July 2021, during a months-long worship and prayer internship in Kansas City, where Seanna and Jaxon became fast friends.
“We saw each other pretty much every day, had classes together and were in the same friend group, so we became pretty close with each other. I would say we considered each other to be best friends,” Seanna said.
While they had to remain long-distance (Seanna returned to Missouri for her studies while Jaxon stayed in Arkansas), their mutual faith and love for one another kept the relationship strong.
Jaxon started planning the proposal months before he got down on one knee.
“He went to my mom and asked her for help to find a castle that they could plan the proposal at,” Seanna said. “Without anyone telling him that was my dream proposal. Just proof that the Lord cares about the little things.”
He proposed, and the two began planning their wedding!

Q&A
Q: When did you two fall in love?
A: “Jaxon says he fell in love with me the minute he heard me sing, and I fell in love with him because of his tender heart and because of how kind and sweet he was to me,” Seanna said.
Q: What was your favorite part of the planning process?
A: “I loved planning all the little details throughout the day, like what the morning would look like with me and the girls, writing our vows, picking the songs and preparing the special moments and gifts for everyone,” Seanna said.
Q: What inspired your wedding day look?
A: “I grew up on ‘Anne of Green Gables’ and I fell in love with her as a little girl,” Seanna said. “The style of the more vintage-looking lace reminded me of that light and whimsical romance of Anne Shirley and I never felt more like myself when I put on that dress.”
Key to Her Heart
Seanna gave her father the key to her heart – a locket with a key on the end – at 13 years old. “I wrote a note to my dad and told him that I was giving him the key to my heart, I trusted him to protect my heart.” Her father presented the locket to Jaxon on their wedding day. “No one knew about that locket until that day. It had everyone in tears.”
Seanna’s Song
“Worship is a huge part of my family and our relationship… We had a lot of music and worship [throughout] the whole day, ceremony and reception included,” Seanna said. “I also wrote a song for my dad as our father-daughter dance.”
