For today’s best of 2020 post, we opted for something unexpected… these are the creative culinary choices you made and the wedding foodie finds that made our mouths water this year. We’re so glad you shared these—we just wish we could’ve been there to taste them all!
RUNNER UPS
Let them eat cake—for breakfast.
These to-go boxes at Wesley and Jacob’s wedding each contain a slice of wedding cake. Talk about the ultimate party favor for guests! We are totally obsessed with this idea. And yes, you would’ve totally caught us sneaking two or three of these indulgent treats back up to our hotel room after the reception. Good idea, Amanda Reed!
Colorful cakes.
Elizabeth Knight Fondren’s red and white mega cake was an absolute stunner. It gives us serious ’00s wedding vibes, but with a fresh 2020 chicness that perfectly matched Lizzie’s glamorous wedding style.
And this bright yellow wedding cake, with tiny citrus fruits, just makes us smile. A perfect summer wedding treat for guests.
The ultimate in classic, bridal white wedding cakes.
You get a cake; you get a cake; everyone gets a cake.
When it comes to dessert, no one really wants to share. That’s why we love these mini wedding cakes that were positioned at each place setting at Alex and Chase’s wedding at the Osage House in Cave Springs. This idea isn’t necessarily new, but it certainly was apropos given COVID-19 and the pandemic. A simple, chic way to serve wedding cake safely.
Wine and cheese.
We saw this idea a lot in 2020, but we particularly loved this one instance, below. The groom’s family owns the Post Winery in Altus, Arkansas. Talk a perfect foodie fit. All of the wine at the wedding was Post, and they paired the wine with a massive charcuterie board displayed atop wine barrels. The bartender also served Post grape juice to the little ones. Nailed it!
White Claw wall.
A very unique pickle bar.
How charming is this pickle and pie station? Instead of a groom’s cake, Leah and Taylor opted for a pie and pickle bar that was a huge hit with their guests. Taylor’s mom decorated the bar with Taylor’s home run baseballs and bat, and the pickle jars were labeled with cool clear acrylic holders.
