During our annual trip to New York Bridal Fashion Week, I was delighted to meet designers like Madeline Gardner of Mori Lee, Romona Keveza, Hayley Paige and also mingle with industry stars like Monte Durham from TLC’s “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta” (pictured at left). My favorite part, however, is previewing all the gorgeous gowns and mingling with Arkansas boutique owners! Here’s what we loved the most. |
SEPARATES
Full, fluffy skirts broke away to reveal a second, totally different dress for brides underneath. I particularly loved Romona Keveza’s “separates” ball gowns (pictured), which transformed into form-fitting frocks.
WATTEAU TRAINS
These unique trains add volume and drama to the gowns that don them (no need for a cathedral veil). I loved this gown by Matthew Christopher.
LOW BACKS
Hayley Paige and Jim Hjelm’s low-backs and strap work (pictured) stole fashion week!
FLORAL PRINTS
From soft pastel and bold-hued prints to 3D flower appliqués, there was real flower power at market. We especially loved the blue hydrangea ball gown by Romana Keveza.
TWINKLING GOWNS
Held at The Plaza Hotel, the BERTA runway showed gowns dripping in sequins designed to twinkle in the light (pictured).
