Real Wedding: Elizabeth Ohnstad & Drew Tyler

Elizabeth Ohnstad & Drew Tyler

May 31, 2025 | The Ballroom at I Street in Bentonville | Emma Farr Photography

Elizabeth and Drew grew up just minutes apart in the same elementary school in Springdale, living in nearby neighborhoods and sharing many mutual friends. It was not until May 2018 that they officially met and instantly felt a connection. “Drew messaged me on social media, and we quickly went on two dates,” Elizabeth said. “…But as life would have it, the timing just wasn’t quite right.”

For the next few years, Elizabeth and Drew went their separate ways. Then, in December 2022, they reconnected and this time, the timing was perfect.

“My senior-year college roommate was dating someone who happened to work with Drew,” Elizabeth said. “They were hosting a Christmas party and invited us separately. We knew the other would be there…And from the second we saw each other, it just felt different. We picked up right where we left off, but this time, everything clicked.”

From that point on, Elizabeth and Drew have been sharing a beautiful life full of joy. They truly believe God’s timing is everything and thank Him every day for bringing them back to each other.

Q&A

Q: Why did you decide to go with the vibe of your wedding?

A: “Our overall vision was a Southern garden party—elegant, timeless, and full of charm,” Elizabeth said.

Q: What moment of the day do you wish you could relive over and over again?

A: “For as long as I can remember—since I was a little girl—I dreamed about the day I would walk down the aisle to the love of my life,” Elizabeth said. “On our wedding day, I remember getting chills as my dad and I walked through the courtyard toward the back of the aisle. I kept thinking, I can’t believe this is finally happening.”

Q: What surprised you about wedding planning?

A: “Of course, I expected to pick and choose things here and there, but I was surprised by just how many details had to be considered,” Elizabeth said. “It can definitely get overwhelming at times, but it also made the final result feel really personal and intentional.”

Q: What inspired your florals?

A: “Staying true to our Southern theme, we incorporated hydrangeas, peonies, and cabbage roses,” Elizabeth said. “I also wanted the floral arrangements to feel whimsical—like a spring garden filled with flowers of all different shapes and sizes.”

Dreaming of Being in Arkansas Bride

“When I was younger, I tore the cover off an issue of Arkansas Bride because I was so struck by the image,” Elizabeth said. “A bride in a stunning lace ballgown who looked effortlessly elegant. I remember saying, ‘That’s exactly how I want to look on my wedding day.’”

Southern Charm and Inspiration

“Drew and I were both born and raised in Arkansas, so the South isn’t just where we’re from, it’s a part of our identity,” Elizabeth said. “We’ve always loved the rich traditions, hospitality, and sense of warmth that Southern culture brings, and we wanted our wedding day to reflect all of that.”
