Wynne Arkansas Wedding: Allison Easley & Matthew Doss

Wynne natives Allison Easley and Matthew Doss were a case of missing each other time and again.

Not only did they grow up in the same town, but Matthew’s family bought the house Allison’s family moved out of, then years later moved next door just as Allison’s family moved again. They finally came face-to-face their freshman year in college, but Allison gave him the cold shoulder. She started to change her mind after joining him on a movie date disguised as an outing for their two younger siblings.

“Our friendship quickly developed into much more,” Allison said. “I am very thankful he never gave up after that first night.”

BRIDE’S INSPIRATION
Allison says her goal was simple and Southern, with a modern and rustic twist. “Our setting was already so naturally beautiful, I didn’t want to do anything to impair that.” Burlap, white, lanterns, mercury glass and natural wood helped achieve her vision.

HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED
The bride’s great-grandmother’s Bible was used in the ceremony, and she wore her mother’s veil and her grandmother’s diamond brooch. Owl plates and vases served as homages to her Chi Omega sorority, and a dessert bar replete with loads of family favorites like peach ice cream, banana pudding, and strawberry and Butterfinger pies satisfied guests’ sweet tooths. Chinese wishing lanterns were used in the sendoff, and guests got creative with a canvas set up for them to paint on.

HOW THEY SAVED
Friends, family and neighbors pitched in to make the big day perfect, and the bride and her mother made a lot of things, including the custom pillows and grapevine balls over the dance floor.
