Six newlywed couples tell why they chose Spa City as the locale for their weddings.
Autumn & Jonathan Lee
“We never really thought about having our wedding in any other place. Hot Springs has some of the most beautiful venues in Arkansas so it was easy to decide! It seems like all the vendors knew each other too, so it was really easy to stay connected with everyone. Our wedding coordinator, Randi Slick at Signature Events, went above and beyond and gave us a lot of advice, and it was easy to choose the Museum of Contemporary Art for our reception, where guests could enjoy downtown Hot Springs and amazing artwork at the same time.”
Lindsey & Zane Henley
“Zane is from Hot Springs and I’m from Benton, so Hot Springs was an excellent central location for our families. The Hamilton House was an excellent venue for our rehearsal dinner and would have also been great for a wedding! We held our reception at Garvan Woodland Gardens in the pavilion. It was incredible. The morning of the wedding, the groom and groomsmen treated themselves to breakfast at The Pancake Shop in downtown, the best breakfast around in our opinion. All in all, there were plenty of places for everyone to stay comfortably and affordably, and plenty of great restaurants. We had an excellent experience.”
Daneika & Terrance Jones
“I love outdoor and destination weddings and Garvan Woodland Gardens’ Anthony Chapel allowed me to have both. My reception was at The Porterhouse, which is a hidden gem on Central Avenue. I loved the vintage feel and it has tons of space for your guests to have an amazing time. And I love that there are so many things to do in Hot Springs with enough fun for all ages, from the museums and restaurants in the Central Avenue historic district to the scenic views and vacation rentals.”
Guadalupe & Jason Piatt
“We have always loved the historic bathhouse district and the charm of Hot Springs. We loved Garvan Gardens’ Anthony Chapel for its huge pane windows surrounded by woodlands. Randi Slick of Signature Events was awesome! She knew we were busy and did not overload us with details; she definitely customizes planning to the couple’s needs and wants. The rest of our vendors were wonderful too: House of Flowers was very organized and helpful, and the flowers turned out perfect. Ambrosia Bakery had the best Italian wedding cake we tasted. And A Beautiful You did a great job with my airbrush makeup and hair.”
Maritza & Walter Griner
“My husband and I are both from Austin, Texas, but once we researched Hot Springs online we knew it was the place we wanted to get married. The Old Mill Wedding Chapel was decorated perfectly and the service was awesome. Our experience at the Quapaw Baths was amazing, and our cake from Ambrosia Bakery was really good and they were so attentive to what I wanted. Overall, it was a great experience in this small but friendly town.”
Natalie & Chris Sheppard
“I was raised in Hot Springs, so it was the perfect opportunity to bring all our friends and family together to experience what the city is all about. My husband is an architect and the minute we saw the warehouse and courtyard of the Hamp Williams Building (Surfas Culinary District), we were sold. We wanted to give our guest lots of room to eat, dance and visit, and it turned out to be the perfect place to enjoy the springtime weather. And MOCA was the perfect setting for our rehearsal dinner. We loved the contrast of the modern art and the historic building. We also loved the porch area out front where our guests could relax and watch the activity of downtown.“
