Vendors We Love: 5 Things You Didn’t Know About A Southern Tradition

When it comes time to plan your wedding, wouldn’t it be nice to be able to do just about everything in one place?

At A Southern Tradition, it is possible.

The rental, floral and design boutique specializes in weddings, providing rentals, fresh floral arrangements, invitations, save-the-dates, design consultations, and tons more for couples on their big day. The one-stop shop offers so much that it’s easy to forget some of the really cool services and rentals it offers.

We were able to catch up with Jessica Zimmerman, owner of A Southern Tradition, 925 Oak St., Conway, and she gave us the rundown on things you might not know:

  1. The company has a wedding designer, wedding coordinator and full-time floral designer on staff, so you know you’re getting the help you need for the big day!
  2. All kinds of invitations for showers and weddings are available, including personalized stationary and letterpress invitations– only one of two stores in the state that offers it.
  3. For extra-special events, A Southern Tradition offers one-of-a-kind rentals (items like you would have in your own home– furniture and gorgeous centerpieces). This includes church pews, one of the only places in the state that offers the furniture that she knows of.
  4. Want fresh flowers to spruce up the ceremony and reception? The boutique does all fresh floral work – bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, etc., right in its shop.
  5. A Southern Tradition will travel just about anywhere for its customers for their big day and what’s great is they offer delivery and set-up, so you don’t have to stress about transporting rentals. All you have to do is worry about walking down the aisle!

Zimmerman said all the services, rentals and items it offers makes it so convenient for planning the wedding.

“My clients love working with one main vendor for so many things,” she said.

Vendor Q&A

One piece of advice that you give brides when it comes to planning their wedding:  Bring pictures!  Looking at pictures helps me to see what the bride likes and after looking at a couple. I would also say to trust the experts. We do this for a living, so be open to new ideas. It is always my goal to pull off a gorgeous wedding for my clients!

What’s your favorite wedding theme this season? I am really into monocromatic color schemes this year.  I just think the simplicity is so gorgeous!

Do you prefer a budget challenge or unlimited wedding funds?  Of course, as a wedding designer, I like unlimited funds.  What’s not to love?  However, we also do budget weddings.  We can pull off a gorgeous wedding on a budget and of course, it always helps when the bride is realistic about the budget.

Peonies or orchids?  Peonies

Go-to flower for brides on a budget? Carnations get a bad rep, but they look so pretty when a large amount of them is grouped together in the same color.
