We saved the easiest of the Four C’s for last just in case your brain was fried. (You can thank us later.)

A diamond’s weight is measured in carats, each carat being divided into 100 points. A diamond of 25 points weighs .25 carats, a one carat diamond is 100 points and so on. Carat weight can be written in either decimals or fractions.

When choosing a ring, remember that no one characteristic defines a diamond, nor does it have full control over the price. Diamonds with the same carat weight will not all cost the same because it also depends on the other traits.

And there you have it, the Four C’s from start to finish. This week we’ve given you the tools to navigate those sparkly waters from C to shining C. Hopefully after this, the only hard part of your search will be choosing which ring looks the most fantastic on your hand.

You worked hard this week, so put on your dancing shoes and have a cookie. You deserve it.
