Ellen Hogan and Clay Matthews, both of Star City, will exchange their vows June 9, 2012. They will celebrate the happy occasion at Crow Farm, a private residence in their home town.
While these two started out friends, half of the duo felt a little stronger for the other. It wasn’t until Ellen’s birthday that Clay finally decided to ask her to lunch. While Clay knew he wanted to date Ellen, she was just as certain that she did not want this friendly relationship to turn into anything more.
After lunch, Clay asked her what the rest of her birthday plans entailed. When she replied her mom was cooking her dinner, he asked if he could join. When he showed up to her house with gifts, Ellen said he “waltzed right into the house” and even called her mother “mama.” Clay won over her family and eventually Ellen. The two fell in love and the rest is history!
