Real Wedding in Arkansas: Lindsey Bowers & Tanner Altares in Bella Vista

Bride & groom: Lindsey Diane Bowers of Paragould and Tanner Vincent Altares of Morris, Okla.

What was your overall inspiration? We wanted a fun, spring-filled theme with our favorite colors coral, sherbet green and touches of pink. The first flowers Tanner gave me were Gerber Daisies, so we used them everywhere!

What were the interesting personal touches?  We both love simple tasty foods, so we had four stations of some of our favorites: Mexican, Italian, American and Cookie Dough. The stations were filled with chicken fajitas, pizza, pork tenderloin, chips, salsa, queso, pasta, and so much more! I LOVE raw cookie dough so we asked our caterer to make a huge punch bowl full of cookie dough with an assortment of toppings to choose from.

Tell us more about your wedding’s unique details: We wanted to incorporate our two golden retrievers, Max and Bella, so we had “doggie bags” at our candy bar full of our favorite candies. Also, both of us are huge college football fans so we had a friendly battle of Oklahoma and Arkansas fight songs.  Having a room divided, the two songs made for a fun and entertaining moment!

Q: What one detail truly made the wedding yours? It had to be the glow stick glasses, necklaces and bracelets. Everyone had so much fun wearing them. Whether it was our Grandparents or our nieces and nephews, everyone was laughing and enjoying their self.

More ideas from Lindsey and Tanners’ wedding:

  • Hand-picked songs arranged on each table to get guests on the dance floor
  • The couple made their own table decorations
  • Tanner loves golf so his groom’s cake was a huge 3D golf ball made of delicious red velvet cake

How did you save money in planning your wedding? I love to search for great deals, so between the coupons and random antique store bargains, we saved on the decorations.

A little bit more about the day… I actually woke up around 3 a.m. the morning of to hail hitting my hotel window. It rained but cleared up early that afternoon—thank goodness. Everything really went smooth and we enjoyed every bit of it.  We couldn’t have asked for a better day and loved every bit of it!
