LaQuasha Rosson & Raymond Ross Sr.
November 6, 2023 | Legacy Acres in Conway | Erin Wilson Photography
LaQuasha and Raymond met at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock during an Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity pajama party. Being in brother and sister organizations, the two were destined to meet!
“I had to stay up all night for an organic chemistry exam,” LaQuasha said. “I knew Raymond was the one when he stayed up with me, making sure I did not fall asleep, while quizzing me. I passed the final with flying colors.”
Raymond decided to propose on his birthday to make sure LaQuasha was totally surprised. He planned a large party with all their family and friends (nothing like him, normally!) and during the event, they played a slideshow of his life.
“There were lots of pictures of him growing up, then suddenly, there are pictures of me,” LaQuasha said. “There was a clip of him asking my parents for my hand in marriage. I look at him with astonishment, and he is on one knee with the ring.”

Q&A
Q: What must-have vendor did you know you had to have?
A: “I knew that I wanted to have my wedding at a location in Arkansas because I wanted all our friends and family to be able to attend,” LaQuasha said. “It had to be in the fall because it is our favorite season of the year. I wanted a modern, yet elegant venue with plenty of space for everyone to get dressed. Raymond’s mom wanted us to get married in a church, so the chapel at Legacy Acres was perfect.”
Q: Is there a personalized detail that you want us to share about the day?
A: “We have a son and a daughter and their favorite colors are blue and pink, so we knew that we wanted a form of these two colors,” LaQuasha said. “I came up with navy and blush pink, but I felt as if the colors resembled spring. With the help of Tanarah and Jessika, I was able to add fall colors that would look good with the two colors.”
Q: Tell us something sentimental about your day.
A: “Our grandparents were an important part of our lives, so we knew we had to find a way to represent them,” LaQuasha said. “At the entrance, we had pictures of each one of them. My bouquet was wrapped with one of my grandmother’s doilies, and there was a bouquet charm that consisted of her picture.”
Q: What was your favorite moment of the day?
A: “I loved everything about my wedding day, but my favorite moment was seeing Raymond during the first look,” LaQuasha said. “As I walked towards him, I said, ‘We have known each other too long for me to have butterflies and be this nervous.’ Seeing him calmed my nerves, and the look on his face when he turned around to see me in my dress was priceless. He felt exactly how I wanted him to feel. He would have never chosen that dress for me.”

A Unique Wedding Vision
“Modern, fall wedding in central Arkansas with a beautiful, elegant reception, delicious food, a DJ, and lots of dancing,” LaQuasha said. “I have been to a lot of weddings, and I wanted to have one that was unlike any that I had ever attended.”
Falling in Love
LaQuasha and Raymond got married in Arkansas during their favorite time of the year! Not only did they get to enjoy the vibrant foliage on their wedding day, but they also were able to incorporate it into their wedding decor.
