Real Wedding: Chadia Ladbasri & Thomas Arnold in Bella Vista

Bride: Chadia Ann Ladbasri of Neosho, Missouri

Groom: Thomas Kyle Arnold of Ozark

What was your overall inspiration? We wanted something light and soft that would tie into late spring. We chose our colors of light blue and light yellow because we wanted something that wasn’t too feminine or too masculine and the colors combined together well.

What were some of the interesting personal touches and unique details?

  • As far as décor, both venues were stunning left alone. Cooper chapel is glass and the outside greenery and the natural light are beautiful so we didn’t feel that we needed to decorate the chapel. Simple Pleasures is decked out with vintage décor and tons of classic cars, along with really neat items from the past, so we didn’t decorate there either. The grounds are gorgeous.
  • The groom’s cake was a white guitar. We chose a guitar because Tom plays guitar and used to play it professionally so he loves guitars.
  • Our flowers were white peonies, blue hydrangeas, and yellow ranunculus. I wanted flowers that weren’t basic roses and I wanted the flower colors to tie into the wedding attire.
  • A special touch was the handmade programs that I made using our engagement photos taken by Angela J. Martin Photography.

What one detail truly made the wedding yours?  All the handmade items – the bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dress, the invitations, programs, hair flowers, pocket silks and punch.

How did you save money in planning your wedding? We saved money by making our invitations and wedding programs ourselves. My mother also made all of the bridesmaid dresses, the flower girl dress and the ring bearer pillow.  One of my bridesmaids, Lucy Wallace, made all of the flowers for our hair.

Tell us a little bit more about the day: We loved riding in the ‘47 Lincoln convertible.  We all had a blast taking tons and tons of photos before and after the ceremony. Simple Pleasures has an incredible facility on 18acres that include a small onsite chapel and an outdoor children’s merry-go-round, Ozark waterfall, vintage autos, tall trees and whispering prairie grass.
