Brenna and Keaton met through mutual friends in their middle school cafeteria in 2012. They were best friends for over a decade before Keaton realized he had feelings for Brenna, and the two started officially dating on February 20, 2020 (four years from their wedding date!).
โI think that because we had done so much together and experienced so much together at that point, we both knew we were starting something beautiful,โ Brenna said. โIt really felt official and final. We both knew at that point what our future held, and that there was no other person for either of us like we had stepped into our future.โ
Brenna and Keaton took a trip to Dallas to go on a date to the Dallas Arboretum and an art show in town. Brenna was completely surprised when Keaton got down on one knee at the โPoetry Garden,โ a private garden in the heart of Dallas.
โHe proposed with his great-grandmother’s ring, and it was all just so shocking and beautiful,โ Brenna said. โWe had a romantic lunch, took our trip to the exhibit, and spent the rest of the day daydreaming about the wedding.โ

Q: What was your favorite moment of the day, and why?
A: โThere was a moment in cocktail hour where me and Keaton were taking a breather upstairs but could still peak down and see our guests,โ Brenna said. โIt was amazing watching everyone we love meet and mingle, while we got to relax after the ceremony.โ
Q: What is your secret to wedding planning success?
A: โView it as an extension of the wedding. Make it fun,โ Brenna said. โMake all of the Pinterest boards, browse stationary and favors for hours. This is one of the most special days of your life, and it goes by so fast. Enjoy the process and make memories during this time too.โ
Q: Did you have a dress code?
A: โI let everyone know โjewel tonesโ were our color palette, and let everyone go from there,โ Brenna said. โIt was important to us to look back at the pictures and see our friends and family as we knew them.โ
Q: What personalizations did you plan for the wedding day?
A: โWe put 2-2-2 on quite a few things,โ Brenna said. โPetit fours, napkins, signage. it is my lucky number and our date, so it was special to include.โ
Q: Was there a special detail from your decor that sticks out to you the most?
A: โI loved our mixed glass pieces and our florals,โ Brenna said. โThe cave is fairly monotone, and these two things brought so much color and interest into the space. I loved walking around just admiring each table and the glass and flowers they each had.โ
