In true University of Arkansas fashion, Grace Edwards and Mo Elliott met during a night out on Dickson Street. After college and starting their careers, the two decided to pack up their life into a van and travel around North America. The couple fell hard for Santa Fe, New Mexico, so Mo decided it was the perfect place to pop the question.
“We had been together for almost seven years on our wedding date, so I had never been so sure about anything in my life,” Grace says. “I’m glad I finally talked him into a big wedding because he was always keen on eloping. He still says it was one of the best days of his life.”
THE INSPIRATION

With deep Fayetteville ties (Mo started the clothing company Fayettechill in 2009), Grace and Mo wanted to say their I Dos in the place where their love story began.
Keeping in tune with fall, Grace chose a deep color palette of black, white and mustard yellow. The ceremony arch was made of foraged Ozark flowers with a few persimmons in the mix. On the morning of the wedding, Meus Floral brought in buckets of flowers to the bridal suite so the bridesmaids could make their own bouquets.
“Every time I’ve been a bridesmaid, I’ve noticed it’s a lot of sitting for most of the day, so I wanted to give my girls something fun to do,” she says. “They loved it, and it was fun to see each bouquet different but still go together.”
During the ceremony, Grace wore a romantic sheer topper over her Rebecca Schoenfeld gown to mix it up from the reception look.
HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED
Mo surprised Grace with a set of rings he created. The engagement ring had a diamond passed down from his grandmother, another band he created with peonies (Grace’s favorite flower) and crescent moons symbolizing growth and the third band was a combination of diamonds and turquoise to remind them of Santa Fe.
When the day arrived, the couple woke up to sunshine and blue skies. Grace had no idea there was a chance of rain until one hour before the wedding. The couple had to postpone the wedding to let everything dry. But it all worked out, and guests were treated to champagne and mini chicken and waffles as they waited.
