Claire Kitzmiller & Scott Zimmerebner
October 23, 2020 / Inn at Carnall Hall in Fayetteville
CLAIRE AND SCOTT met their freshman year at the University of Arkansas in 2007 when she would ring the โpledgeโ phone for a reliable ride home. Most of the time, Scott was the one to answer those calls. They reconnected after college when Scott was in dental school and Claire was visiting Memphis for a bachelorette party. Little did they know that their rekindled friendship would turn into forever.
Before a Kacey Musgraves concert they went to see in Charleston, they toured the city, working their way to a proposal spot that Scott had scoped out on the rooftop of the Wentworth Mansion Inn that had 360-degree views. They went at a perfect time when it could just be the two of them. โIt was so perfect and intimate and โus,โโ Claire says.
PLANNING DURING A PANDEMIC
Claire and Scott essentially planned for three weddings. Due to COVID-19, they first pushed back their wedding by several months, and then pushed it back even further when they opted to shift their plans from Santa Barbara to Fayetteville. With the love and support of their friends, family and their planner Amanda Reed, they were able to ultimately have the perfect celebration with those who matter most.
HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED
Because their relationship began on the University of Arkansas campus, it only made sense for them to get married there. They chose to host their wedding on the lawn of the Inn at Carnall Hall.
Claire was inspired by a romantic modern garden and used that to guide her color decision, landing on blush, burgundy, cream and champagne tones. Meus Floral created beautiful floral arches and aisle arrangements, which complemented the pashminas laid over their ceremony chairs.
For their reception, they chose luxe velvets and fall florals to lend an intimate and comfortable feeling to the chilly October evening.
Shindig Paperie coordinated with their already-ordered invitations by Minted and made special touches like personalized name cards with menus at each place setting, signage and monograms.
Claire found her perfect gown at Joon Bridal. Luckily, they had availability the one weekend her mom and sisters were in town. Ultimately, โMarcelleโ by Alexandra Grecco won her over. It was classically romantic but with a more modern neckline and dreamy silk skirting and lace appliquรฉ. Claire felt both beautiful and comfortable. She also got a veil created by Made With Love and paired it with hairpieces by Emma Katzka. She opted for two different pairs of shoes for fun and functionality. The ceremony pair was a unique micro-rainbow stripe suede stiletto by Stuart Weitzman while the reception pair was a comfy Sam Edelman block heel in a cozy burnt orange velvet. Additionally, she was able to include her motherโs vintage Yurman bracelet and grandmotherโs vintage brooches into her bouquet, which Meus Floral incorporated flawlessly.
