TESSAH WEST & WYATT LUEBKE

Feb. 19, 2022 | The Silos | Bono | Raegan Buckley Photography

Tessah and Wyatt are high school sweethearts. The two met through their church’s youth group in 2013 and quickly became friends. In true Arkansas fashion, Wyatt invited Tessah on what would become their first date—deer hunting at his family farm. They dated all through high school and continued their relationship while in college at Arkansas State University.

Wyatt proposed on the Arkansas State University football field during their last year of college. Wyatt played football in college, so it is a special place for the couple. He had a photographer reach out to Tessah through social media, and she asked to take some pictures of the couple for her portfolio. It was raining the day of the shoot, so they got some clear umbrellas and met the photographer at the field. After about 30 minutes of posing, Wyatt got down on one knee. The scoreboard lit up with the message, “Tessah, will you marry me?”

“Our families were watching from the stands of the football stadium,” Tessah said. “We later went to dinner and I had another surprise. All of my family and friends were there for a surprise engagement party. We ate, we drank and celebrated all night! It was a day I will never forget.”

Q & A

Q: What inspired your florals?

A: “After searching for hours and hours to find a vibe that fit me best… I ended up going with flowers that were more ‘boho chic’ but also had a timeless elegance. They were the perfect combination of dried flowers, pampas grass, greenery, pink roses and orchids.”

Q: What is your secret to wedding planning success?

A: “My secret is getting all of your big vendors booked as soon as you know your wedding date. Once you get that done, you can start working on details, wedding party, floral designs and all of the things that you’ve been dreaming about since forever,” Tessah said. “I also kept up with my wedding budget on a Google Sheets spreadsheet (would highly recommend it). Keeping track of my budget allowed me to know how much we had paid, what we owed and what was due by the date of the wedding. It also helped me in allocating expenses to make sure I was able to have everything I wanted for the big day!”

Q: What were you not going to compromise on?

A: “Getting married in February is risky! Regardless, I knew I really wanted an outdoor wedding. I had a few contingency plans, but thankfully, we were able to work it out and have our ceremony outside,” Tessah said. “If you want something, make it happen!”

Q: What was your favorite wedding detail?

A: “The cowboy hats!” Tessah said. “Many of our friends and my husband wore their cowboy hats and black cowboy boots (requested by Wyatt).”
