Sarah French was just doing her job, reporting on the Boston Red Sox Centennial celebrations, when she caught the eye of pitcher Chris Carpenter from Bryan, Ohio. He made his move on Twitter and somehow won her over. He later proposed to her in Paris, France on the romantic Love Lock Bridge. She said “yes,” and they pitched their keys into the Seine River.
The Details
Growing up in Hot Springs, Sarah was no stranger to the beauty of the Spa City. She wanted to accentuate the Arlington’s architecture with décor that was as elegant and timeless as the famous hotel itself. White hydrangeas, roses, stock, snapdragons and dendrobium orchids overflowed from every table, radiating pure luxury and grandeur. Music played a big part in the wedding. Sarah and Chris asked friends and family with musical abilities to fill the day with meaningful music. Sarah’s 13-time Grammy award-winning cousin Jerry Douglas played the dobro and an original song, a friend who sings country music in Nashville performed; and Sarah’s church choir teacher and opera singer sang with her husband.
