Kristen Anderson & Jarrod Payne
The Anthony Chapel at Garvan Woodland Gardens, Hot Springs
March 12, 2016
After completing nursing school at Duke, Kristen moved to Houston to begin her career at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Jarrod, native to Houston, was in his second year at Caldwell Companies. Matchmakers David Towery and Lauren Brandom decided to set them up on a double date—a late night spent bowling at Dave & Buster’s marked the first of many dates.
A year later, Jarrod couldn’t wait any longer to ask Kristen to be his bride. He planned an elaborate surprise at a destination special to them in Brenham, Texas. He proposed in a moment the couple still says was the most surreal of their lives.
The duo chose a destination wedding in Hot Springs at The Arlington. The city holds a special place in Kristen’s heart after many childhood trips with her now late father. His favorite hotel was The Arlington, and there was nowhere else they’d rather be on their wedding day.
