Allie Honey & J.R. Baxter
December 19, 2020
Anthony Chapel at Garvan Woodland Gardens and Hale Bathhouse
Thanks to their mutual love of state politics and mutual friends, Allie Honey met her now-husband J.R. Baxter at a campaign rally in 2014, during which the two got to know each other. Allie was elated when a few days later, J.R. asked her to dinner at Theo’s in Fayetteville.
The rain foiled J.R.’s original proposal plan, but he improvised and popped the question in front of the beautiful Sassafras Springs Vineyard cottage.
PLANNING DURING A PANDEMIC
When the pandemic hit, they had to postpone and reschedule their big day three times before they chose to opt for a small, intimate ceremony with only 35 guests. They went without a traditional wedding party and had the bridesmaids and groomsmen sit with their family during the ceremony.
HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED
Anthony Chapel at Garvan Woodland Gardens was perfect for their evening, candlelight wedding inspired by Allie’s parents’ wedding theme. Allie included many family heirlooms in her custom wedding dress and accessories as a way to honor family members who had passed or couldn’t be present. The gorgeous and cozy ceremony was followed by a reception at the historic Hale Bathhouse in downtown Hot Springs.
