Kati DuPriest & Dalton Mooney
September 21, 2019
Legacy Acres, Conway
Kati DuPriest and Dalton Mooney met while attending nursing school at Baptist Health College. Kati had hoped to meet her future husband at school, but after finding out that there were only about 10 men in a class of 250, she was a bit discouraged. A year later, the two were assigned to a clinical group together. Over the next few months, the two began to walk together at the Big Dam Bridge to talk about school. That’s where their relationship began to blossom, and Dalton asked her to be his girlfriend at the bridge on Sept. 8, 2014.
When it came time to propose, Dalton took Kati up to Petit Jean Mountain. “We walked to the end of the walkway, which had rose petals scattered along the way,” Dalton says. “At the end, there were a dozen red roses I handed to Kati before I got down on one knee and proposed. She said yes and her family and friends, who were hiding behind some trees watching, came out yelling. We took pictures and then went to eat dessert at Mather Lodge. It was absolutely perfect.”
THE INSPIRATION

Kati found her perfect venue in Legacy Acres. From the crystal chandeliers to the all-white decor, Legacy Acres had it all. Plus, she had always wanted a venue where the ceremony and reception could take place in the same location to make it easier on guests.
“The moment I saw the ceremony room, I could envision myself walking down this aisle to Dalton,” Kati says. “This long aisle gave me the walk I had always dreamed of. The reception room has the most beautiful crystal chandelier in the center that I knew I wanted our first dance to be under.”
When it came to her bridal style, she was inspired by Princess Diana’s wedding dress. She found her perfect princess ball gown at Unveiled Bridal Collection and Tanarah Luxe Floral created her a cascading bridal bouquet of roses, peonies and greenery—a nod to the bouquet Diana carried on her big day.
HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED
At the top of the couple’s wedding invitation, there was a gold crest with a “M” — the first initial of their last name. The same crest was used on the cake, dance floor vinyl, on the cups, napkins and bar drink signs. As guest favors, Kati and Dalton gifted their loved ones chocolates with their crest printed on them that doubled as escort cards.
For the reception, Kati’s wedding planner Jessika McCuin came up with the idea to create “two rooms” on each side of the dance floor. The rooms were draped with white sheer fabric and adorned with greenery and florals. The tables were decorated with lush low arrangements intertwined with candles with greenery hanging overhead.
Kati and Dalton’s two signature drinks were named after their dogs, Savvy and Blair. The Savvy was a holiday punch with vodka and the Blair was a raspberry lemonade cocktail with champagne. The bar was decorated with watercolor pictures of the couple’s furry friends. At the end of the night, the couple left the reception with a sparkler exit and drove away as husband and wife in a sleek white vintage car.
“I loved everything about our wedding. It’s almost impossible to pick just one moment,” Kati says. “But I will always love the moment the double doors opened and I saw Dalton for the first time that day! The smile that was on his face is not one I will soon forget!”
