September 14, 2021 / Graduate Fayetteville

Trine met Tanner when she was 15, and they were together for a summer before they were separated for several years. “A small town a lifetime ago,” Tanner said. “We came together to get a glorious glimpse of what life together could be like. Time and circumstance separated us for six winters. We met again for a second first time in June 2020 and instantly knew nothing in life could ever separate us even one winter more.”

THE INSPIRATION

Trine and Tanner realized that a wedding just wasn’t for them and decided to elope. They walked into Graduate Fayetteville to book a room for a friend and as soon as they walked in, Trine just felt like it was unique, different, vintage and perfect. She shared her elopement vision with the sales manager, Mekenna Scott, and helped Trine make her vision come true. “We kept things true to us in that way. We intentionally focused on each other and made no room for distractions … It made things more intimate and more focused on our love for each other. It made things slow down too. I will always be so proud that we did it our way.”

HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED

For Trine’s ring, Tanner chose a vintage ring at Romance Diamond Co. Jewelers set with emerald and cut in white gold. For Tanner, they chose a white gold ring with a vine engraved into the band. Trine found her “Viola” gown by Alexandria Greco at Joon Bridal and she loved the timeless, elegant look of it. She paired her dress with a pair of embellished boots, a dainty gold and pearl bracelet and an ivory Lack of Color hat. Her veil was also very sentimental and was made for her by Tanner’s grandmother. Trine wore gold earrings to honor her grandmother, who passed away earlier in that year.

Trine’s bouquet came from Samantha’s Garden. The mix of fresh and dried floral elements created a multi-dimensional moody masterpiece. Samantha’s Garden also created some babies’ breath arrangements to create more of a bridal look for the intimate ceremony. Trine and Tanner chose to do a reception later at Devil’s Den State Park with close friends and family. It was all things boho and vintage. “I found myself in a sort of love that made everything else small,” Trine said. “This love was something that I have a hard time explaining but it is something that I hope everyone gets to experience. It is unconditional and it is exciting. It is something that feels new everyday, but it also feels old at the same time.”
