Tiara Jones & Cordell Piggee

Cordell Piggee of Little Rock and Tiara Jones of Warren met for the first time at church while in college. The two later reconnected at an audition for “American Idol” in 2014. Although Tiara was dating someone else at the time, she remembers seeing him and asking God if he was supposed to be her husband. After throwing the fleeting thought to the back of her mind, both Cordell and Tiara made it to round two of “American Idol” auditions and ended up in Utah auditioning together. By May 2015, Tiara was single and Cordell was in his pursuit. They’ve been together ever since.
The Inspiration
Tiara and Cordell wanted an elegant old Hollywood feel for their wedding. After choosing the main colors—navy, gold and burgundy—the couple simply let Eminent Planning’s Centrina Washington’s take over.
How They Customized
The couple had little piggy keychains made as party favors to tie in their last name, Piggee. Tiara also had a groom’s cake made for Cordell in the shape of a microphone because they’re both singers. Since Tiara and Cordell are worship leaders, they wanted to start their wedding ceremony by holding a mini worship service. Tiara says that was one thing they wouldn’t budge on, because God was the reason they were together.

While some brides can’t wait for the first look photos, Tiara wasn’t as thrilled with the idea. However, once the day arrived, she says it was the highlight of the day for the couple. Tiara had no idea of what Cordell was wearing that day since he refused to let her see, which is only fair since he couldn’t see her dress.
Tiara also says the other thing she’ll remember the most about her big day was the kiss Cordell gave her after the wedding was over. “He didn’t cry during the ceremony but he did afterward,” she says. “He thanked me for marrying him, but I was the one who should have been thanking him.”
