The Hills at Belvedere
Sydney Gibson fell for her husband, Denver native Kyle Matusoff while attending Ouachita Baptist University. The two both graduated with degrees in Business Administration and settled down in Sydney’s hometown of Hot Springs.
Sydney’s three best friends were visiting for a weekend and each found excuses to go home early that Saturday night. After they left, Sydney was a little disappointed thinking a proposal was imminent. Kyle took Sydney on a walk downtown to look at Christmas lights before dinner. He steered her towards the downtown promenade entrance where he had beautiful poinsettias arranged. Then he got down on one knee — making it a moment Sydney will never forget.
The Inspiration
When it came to her wedding, Sydney wanted a “princess-y” vibe. Her main color story was blush, wine and gold. She pulled inspiration from Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s gorgeous floral wall for her own soiree. “A horse and carriage entrance and four-string quartet playing ‘Halo’ by Beyonce made me feel like royalty for a day,” she says.
How They Customized
Sydney says her venue was part of what made her wedding stand out. The Hills of Belvedere’s owner Robert was more than accommodating and also informed Sydney about the history of the venue. He pointed out the lovely light fixtures had belonged to Al Capone himself. Sydney points to Signature Events’ Randi Slick as her most worth-it splurge. Their floral wall served multiple purposes. It made the perfect backdrop for “I do,” but also a great photo backdrop for guest Instagram posts after the ceremony.
