Elisa Cash & Brandon Igyarto
Marlsgate Plantation, Scott
Oct. 6, 2012
Little Rock native Elisa Cash made the move to New York City after graduation to follow her dream of being a fashion designer. After landing a design job at LOFT, a coworker suggested she join her on a local co-ed softball team.
As fate would have it, her future husband – Brandon Igyarto of Inverness, Ill. – was on the same team, and a shared love for sports and the outdoors quickly drew them together. They went on their first date three months later, and after four years together they were on an adventure in Puerto Rico when Brandon surprised her with the big question. “In shock, my response was, ‘Are you sure?!’ to which he concluded, ‘of course!’” Elisa says.
BRIDE’S INSPIRATION
“My overall inspiration was combining the natural, rustic beauty and history of Marlsgate Plantation and my home state with the sophisticated glamour of modern-day design,” Elisa says. She and event designer Todd Bagwell weaved in colors like champagne, silver and desaturated eggplant with lace, wrought iron, crystal chandeliers and “tall, wild floral arrangements to make the ‘rustic glamour’ theme come to life.”
HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED
Dinner menus and placecards were handwritten and personalized, and elements of the wedding cake echoed the bride’s Vera Wang gown. Welcome boxes for out-of-towners included historical Arkansas memorabilia and information about local attractions like the Little Rock River Market and the William J. Clinton Presidential Center.
LABOR OF LOVE
The fashion-savvy bride didn’t have time to design and create her own gown, so she opted instead to conquer a custom sash decorated with more than 250 Swarovski pronged crystals. “I hand-sewed all the beads in an intricate design onto the hand-cut vintage Italian lace and silk satin ribbon,” she says.
