The best kinds of friends have your back no matter what, especially when they keep setting you up with your future spouse. Rachel Gibbons of Marvell and Drew Milner of Conway have such friends, the kind who planned many a gathering to make sure the two’s shyness didn’t get in the way. A relationship eventually grew, especially when they both took part in a summer kickball team.
Four years later, Rachel had family in town and was gearing up to celebrate her birthday before setting out for a graduate school interview. Drew took her to one of their favorite restaurants in Fayetteville, Vetro 1925, and then on a walk around the town square before he popped the question.
The Inspiration
Home was a big source of inspiration for Rachel. She combined this with her love for the church and small town she grew up in to create an ambience perfect for easy celebrating with family and friends, topping it off with a neutral palette of whites and lush greenery and pops of deep red.
How They Customized
Family recipes made a huge showing at the Milner wedding. Both the chocolate layered groom’s cake and the strawberry and vanilla wedding cake were made by relatives, including a cake topper first used by Rachel’s mom and then by Rachel’s older sister for her wedding.
Some of the day’s most memorable images, however, come from the couple’s first look. They chose to hold this stunning moment near the plane and airstrip where Rachel’s late father used to take them flying.
