PEYTON CASHION & WADE WILLIAMS
June 5, 2021 / First United Methodist Church of Dumas & The Delta at Silverside Outdoors, Tillar
Peyton and Wade met through mutual friends and even hung out in high school, but they didn’t reconnect until the Fourth of July weekend in 2014. They caught up during a boat ride in Hot Springs, and their love blossomed from there.
On April 18, 2020, Wade suggested they have a nice dinner on their newly renovated patio. When they returned from picking up their food, Wade insisted Peyton lead the way into the backyard. She noticed that the patio had been rearranged, and when she looked back to Wade, he was down on one knee. Their younger siblings, who had been hiding behind their tool shed, popped out and took pictures as Wade proposed.
THE INSPIRATION
The vision for their big day was a classic Southern Garden party. The ceremony was held at First United Methodist Church of Dumas, and they decided to keep the décor simple with just two floral arrangements at the altar. The bridal party wore sage and eucalyptus green. Peyton credits her wedding planner, Britt Jones, for making planning her big day such a breeze.
“(My dress) was almost too pretty to put on that day. I’ve recently had it preserved, but I wish I could have put it on display in a glass case rather than a box.”
– Peyton
HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED
Magnolias were a big part of the wedding design. Amanda Day of Dayflower Designs created stationery that perfectly reflected Peyton and Wade’s vision. A custom crest with full magnolia blooms was printed on invitations, koozies, napkins and ceremony programs.
On the day of the wedding, Wade gifted his bride a beautiful diamond necklace that she has worn ever since. Peyton’s favorite fashion element was her fitted, satin strapless wedding dress from Unveiled Bridal. Peyton’s bridal makeup and hair was done by Belle & Blush and was elegant but natural and simple but timeless. Her hair was perfectly curled and pinned in the back for a pretty half-up, half-down style.
Their reception venue, The Delta at Silverside Outdoors in Tillar had plenty of blank white space, so there was a lot of room to play design-wise. Rich patterns and soft, summery colors like lilac, sage green and ivory transformed the space into a summer dream. A stunning floral and light installation was suspended over a custom dance floor. During the celebration, the air conditioning went out, but the guests partied on well into the night.
