It all started when the best friend of Rogers native Slade Hames approached St. Louis girl Leslie Nola, suggesting she go out with his friend. Leslie thought it was a joke and agreed. Little did she know, this was the real deal. The University of Arkansas couple had their first date at a restaurant on the Fayetteville square amid all the dreamy Christmas lights. Two years later, Slade proposed to Leslie at the top of beautiful Mount Sequoyah.
