Lauren Howell of Conway and Jacob Wood of Pleasant Plains began where most don’t: walking down the aisle. The two were paired to walk together in a friend’s wedding and quickly made a connection. Nothing came of the event, however, because Jacob mistakenly thought she was already spoken for. Months later, when he learned of his mistake, he messaged Lauren, asked her out, and they fell for each other fast.
One night, while the two were at dinner together, Jacob excused himself from the table. A man then came from across the room and handed Lauren a single rose with a note attached, then left. She was confused, especially when six more people did the same thing, one after another. She eventually put the pieces together and realized exactly what was happening. When she turned around, there was Jacob on one knee, and both of their families waiting to celebrate the newly engaged couple.
