Though Kelli Blanchard and Joe Denton were both from Jonesboro, they never met until a chance encounter at the University of Arkansas. They discovered they had several mutual friends, and after attending a function together, they were inseparable. Fast-forward six years of dating and Kelli was ready for a ring. It was Christmastime and they both were living in Little Rock. Joe told Kelli they should go out for their “own small celebration” before traveling home and he took her to the Capital Hotel. When they got there, Joe suggested they grab a drink and go up on the balcony. At the top of the stairs, Kelli noticed roses, candles and champagne. “Are you going to propose?!” she asked excitedly. Joe smiled, got down on one knee, and did just that. “I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect night,” she says.
