KARIN LACHAT & HEATH WILCOX
March 20, 2021 / The Gardens of Harmony, Jonesboro
Karin and Heath knew each other through mutual friends. Heath decided to ask her on a date in 2014 and they have been together ever since. One of Karin’s friends set up a college senior photo shoot and Heath surprised her by getting down on one knee during the shot.
THE INSPIRATION
Karin is the queen of spreadsheets. She and her planner had spreadsheets for budgeting, gifts, vendors and contacts. Everything was so meticulously organized that Karin had no worries on the day of the wedding because she knew she had it all in the spreadsheets. She and Heath chose The Gardens of Harmony for the beauty, flexibility and service options they offered. They loved the greenhouse vibe and loved that there was plenty of indoor and outdoor space for guests.
HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED
Karin and Heath have always had the same sort of classic yet modern taste when it comes to almost everything and wanted the wedding to reflect that. Their bouquets were white roses, peonies and hydrangeas, with subtle touches of toffee among the roses, as was the enormous hanging floral chandelier suspended over the bar. The reception décor included tall, beautiful gold flower holders for the head table, plus tealight candles and gold candle holders to give off a more intimate, warm glow as the evening went on. The reception area was decorated with plants from the greenhouse, as well as greenery walls and neon signs to give off a more modern look. The champagne wall was a fan favorite and was used as a photo prop for most of the night.
Karin’s perfect gown was a fit and flare with a classic satin look, but she has always loved pearls as well, so she had a seamstress in Jonesboro add pearl detailing to her sleeves. She also added a simple beaded pearl belt. She had a cathedral length mesh veil lined with beaded detailing and paired her dress with shoes from Badgley Mischka, custom earrings and hair piece from Botia accessories. She styled her hair with a dramatic side part with beautiful, timeless Hollywood curls. Her bridesmaids wore sparkly, champagne gowns.
Karin stumbled across jeweler George Gotcher’s page and showed Heath an emerald ring she thought was breathtaking. Little did she know, she showed him a picture of the exact ring that Heath had already ordered for her. For Heath, Karin ordered him a wedding band with embedded diamonds.
Their cake was a five-layer cake, with each layer being a different flavor. The cake was adorned with their crest and white hydrangeas.
