Emily Cossey & Devon Orr

Emily Cossey and Devon Orr knew they had something special in the 10th grade and have been inseparable ever since. Devon proposed in high school, but Emily knew that was too early to get married, so after 10 years of school and life, they decided it was finally time to tie the knot. “We went to pick out a new ring (because my style has definitely changed from high school) and designed it together,” she says.
THE INSPIRATION
Emily’s wedding style was inspired by The Natural State. The couple loves to be outdoors and they wanted to pick a wedding spot that they could visit many times for years to come. They were sold on Mount Magazine, with its sweeping views of the Arkansas River Valley. “I wanted it to be earthy, magical, and intimate,” Emily says.
HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED

Going along with their earthy color scheme, Emily picked out dresses that her bridesmaids would actually wear again. She went with a simple but sexy gown that was affordable. She found the perfect dresses at Abercrombie. The terracotta color and the satin material checked all of her boxes and looked great on her red-headed and blonde besties.
After the ceremony, everyone headed to Mount Magazine State Park’s rustic stone and wood beam picnic pavilion for the reception. The couple served wines from Arkansas and Emily’s mom, known for her homemade desserts, made the wedding cake of almond vanilla cake with accents of blueberries, blackberries and figs.
The couple’s big day went off without a hitch except for one moment after the ceremony. Everyone thought that the Emily and Devon had gotten a ride with someone else and a guest drove off in the couple’s car to the reception spot. “Thankfully, our photographer let us hitch a ride to our reception,” Emily says.
