When Little Rock native Danielle Daugherty met Mountain Home’s Kevin Collie on a blind date back in 2013, the writing was on the wall. The two fell in love in no time at all, and six months later, Kevin proposed at the Capital Hotel in downtown Little Rock.
“When he opened the door to the room, it completely took my breath away,” Danielle says. “There were candles and rose petals all over the room, along with a bouquet of roses and several of my favorite pictures of us. Kevin set me down and explained the significance of choosing the Capital Hotel because it’s such a staple of Little Rock, and we knew we wanted to build a life here. He read scripture describing the husband that he was committing to be, and then got down on one knee and proposed. It was absolutely perfect, and I couldn’t have been happier!”
…or so she thought.
When the big day finally arrived, Danielle spend the morning getting ready with her closest family and friends, and was completely flooded with “overwhelming joy” when the couple did their first look. The simple elegance of the ceremony included personal vows and letters they had written to each other, which are now framed in the couple’s bedroom as a reminder of their love and commitment.
Stunning whites and golds dotted the reception space, just a cocktail hour and quick flip away from the ceremony space it had been moments ago. Everyone danced the night away to the sounds of Memphis Soul Revue, overlooking the setting sun on the capitol city skyline.
