Timing is everything. That’s the lesson Paragould’s Cat Singleton and White Hall’s Louis Hamilton learned a few years ago. The two met through mutual friends back in 2009, but they were headed in different directions to separate colleges.

Five years later, Louis got in touch with Cat and asked for a second first date. This time around, the timing was perfect, and Louis proposed a year later at sunset on her grandparent’s farm in Paragould.

The Hamilton’s winter wedding was swaddled in soft blush tones and dotted with bright reds and glimmering metallics. It was filled with sentimental pieces, like Cat’s bouquet and her wearing her mother’s bridal veil. The ceremony included pew bows handmade by Cat’s grandmother and guests tossing “snow” as the couple exited the church and rode away in a horse-drawn buggy to the downtown reception.

Guests at the celebration enjoyed a tasty spread, including a hot chocolate bar, a perfectly fitting groom’s cake and glass bottles of Barq’s Rootbeer (served in personalized koozies, of course). They laughed while filling out provided “Advice for the Newlyweds” mad-libs and danced the night away to the sounds of DJ Rick Christian.
