When Chase Rackley, son of Larry and Joy Crain of Little Rock, called First Security Bank to discuss an account discrepancy, fate answered. It had a warm, friendly voice and begged Chase to learn more. He was smitten and asked the girl on the other end, Casey Jeu of North Little Rock, to join him and his family for Thanksgiving dinner. She tactfully declined. But after much persistence, Casey finally agreed to meet her customer-turned-suitor for a night of karaoke with friends. “I remember thinking I had never seen anyone like this before—so centered, so full of life and so handsome!” she says. A year-and-a-half later, he serenaded Casey on the rooftop of a downtown Little Rock property. Amidst a sea of rose petals, Chase ended his self-written song with the line, “Will you marry me?” And in minutes, the couple’s family and friends joined them for a rooftop celebration.
BRIDE’S INSPIRATION
Casey was never one to dream of exactly how her wedding would look. It was the people in her life that inspired her big day more than anything and the “feel” of the day that most concerned her. She wanted each person there to feel loved and personally touched by hers and Chase’s excitement. They started with classic black and ivory and added modern touches.
HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED
Before Casey entered the sanctuary, Chase and his brother, Chandler, laid down an antique Oushak rug on which the couple would stand to say their vows. The rug symbolized Chase “laying down his life for his bride” as stated in the Bible. Casey’s father, a North Little Rock police officer, passed away when she was young, and to honor his memory, Casey had a patch from his police uniform sewn into the lining of her dress and used the buttons from his uniform on the collar of her bouquet.
The reception was held at the Crain family home and was a true reflection of who Chase and Casey are as a couple. A variety of tent stations were set up like “Casey’s Creamery” with all her favorite ice creams, “Chase’s Chill Zone” with guy food and drinks, and “Chasey’s Perfect Blend” with a variety of specialty coffees.
