It was a mutual friend’s wedding that brought Clarksville’s Becka Dickerson and Fayetteville native John Mullins together in Hot Springs. They hit it off immediately when they were introduced at the reception, and it wasn’t too long until the two began to hear wedding bells of their own. A few short years later, John woke Becka up in the middle of the night and surprised her with a ring and a question that just couldn’t wait any longer.
The Inspiration
Inspiration just seems to radiate out of a venue like UARK Bowl, and Becka ran with it. The Art Deco vibe inspired everything from the invitations to the cake and to the couple’s custom monogram. Even Becka’s Vera Wang gown had an Art Deco feel and was the perfect highlight to the day—every bit of which shone with a luxurious palette of silvers, grays and rich blue lighting.
How They Customized
John and Becka decided to structure their important day a little differently than most. They chose to keep the intimate ceremony contained to their closest family and friends, and forwent a wedding party in favor of just John’s daughter Kaitlyn. After the ceremony and cocktail hour, the reception was open to many more loved ones. The custom monogram carried a common thread throughout the event, appearing on everything from the programs to the throw pillows, and echoed the swank, modern Art Deco atmosphere, right down to the white-on-white, four-tiered cake.
