Whitney Roberson of Newark and Jeremy Capps of Pleasant Plains are engaged to be married. The couple will hold the happy occasion Aug. 11 at Lyon College Chapel.
Here’s what the bride had to say about Jeremy’s proposal:
“Jeremy took me to St. Louis, Mo., for a fun-filled weekend! [We went] on a walk to see the Gateway Arch with the stars shining. When we arrived to the Arch we both walked under it holding hands while talking about our adventurous future that lies ahead. Then Jeremy started telling me how much he loved me and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. Then we stopped looking at the Arch and started looking toward each other and he said, ‘This is going to be the Gateway to our future, Whitney.’ Then he got down on his knee, and pulled out the most beautiful ring a girl could ever imagine, and asked, ‘Will you marry me!’ Of course I said ‘yes!’ Everyone around the Arch was congratulating us afterward, while I was crying my eyes out, but also smiling with lots of joy! It was one amazing night in St. Louis!”
