To continue our fun “Meet the Photographers” series, next we put the spotlight on a veteran in the field — Striegler Photography. Bryan Striegler is known for his flash photography, and now we’re excited to learn more about the man behind the flash.
Here’s a peek into Bryan’s life.
How long have you been a professional wedding photographer?
I’ve been photographing weddings for roughly eight years. Two years ago, I stopped teaching and started being a full-time photographer.
How would you describe your photography style?
I do a little bit of it all: candid, posed, goofy. Out of all of it, I’m known most for my flash photography. I use flash to create dramatic environment portraits that show off the venue, the couple and is completely unique to them.
What do you love about being a wedding photographer?
I love meeting people and learning about them. I love that it’s such a happy and joyful day. In my old job (teaching), not everyone was happy, and most didn’t want to be there or want me there. It’s completely the opposite with weddings.
What’s your favorite part about photographing a wedding?
That’s a tough one! There are so many great moments throughout the day. I think my favorite part though is the reception. That’s when all the stressful things are done with, and everyone can just let loose and have fun!
What price points can brides expect?
We start at $2000, but we average around $3500 because we also offer video.
What’s one piece of advice you like to give brides on their big day?
Have fun and don’t stress over the small things. Something will go wrong, but in the end, you’re marrying the person you love, and that’s what matters.
When you’re not shooting weddings, what do you like to do with your spare time?
I love going to the movies, exercising, and I write for a few different photography blogs.
