Magnolia natives Katy Burgess and Ben Correa are set to be wed June 15 in Panama City Beach, Fla. JRowe Photography sent us these engagement shots, and check out their love story in Katy’s own words:
Ben and I absolutely love everything about Disney — the movies, the characters and of course, the World. In 2011, we were able to go to Disney for the first time as a couple. I was so excited to go since I had not been in many years. The day of the engagement, we went to a park during the day and had a great time.
That evening, we had reservations at The Royal Table in Cinderella’s Castle in Magic Kingdom! As I was getting ready, I thought it was odd that Ben was so anxious to leave very early. He insisted we must not be late for our reservation. Furthermore, he grabbed a drawstring bag that didn’t match his outfit and started RUNNING (in the heat in dress clothes) to Magic Kingdom.
Long story short… complete with visits from all of the princesses, a princess wand, my engagement ring presented in an engraved glass slipper on a silver platter with rose petals and a hired photographer to capture it all, he proposed in the most magical way that truly made me feel like a Disney princess!
We ended the night watching the Wishes firework show and eating Mickey Mouse ice cream cones! The rest of the trip we walked around with “Just Engaged” buttons and everyone at Disney World made us feel famous and loved with their congratulations!
